Refrigerant Leak

Refrigerant is the substance that makes air conditioning possible in the first place. In its gaseous form, it is pumped through the A/C system, where it picks up heat. It then gets condensed into a liquid, shedding this heat. As the heat is swept off, a pocket of cool air is formed around the refrigerant, and this air is blown into the cabin.
